Sorry, I make bad gifs. It made a loud pop and the tie rod, device and socket all flew a foot or more. Lesson learned.

I bashed the back of my head on the wheel well the first time I separated a ball joint because it startled the hell out of me when it finally broke loose.

At least with an old fashion pickle fork you’re already banging on it so it sort of dampens the magnitude of the POP
